Medication for aggression

Hi. New to this group. I have a five year old autistic son who is high functioning but becomes aggressive when frustrated or angry. It’s becoming an issue at school and his developmental pediatrician recommended tenex to help. I’m apprehensive for sure but if it could help him just take the edge off it’s worth it. Anyone have any feedback with this medication or others? Thanks!

  • My son has been on tenex since he was that age and he is 13 now. Helped with a lot of the hyperactivity and dumbed down some of the aggression. He is still on low dosage too. 3 mg ER tablet. To be honest, the thing that has made the most difference isn’t a medication at all. It’s something called NADH. It’s a supplement that is used for Alzheimer’s patients. I give him this and acytl l carnitine. He respondended very quickly to this this year and is now able to be in a mainstream classroom without a tss finally
