what meds have you tried for yourself or your children?

having an adhd son we have tried several different types of meds.
at first it was small doses of Adderall, stimulants worked to a point.
then we tried resperidone for about a minute.
the psychotic drugs worked great, made the kid psychotic in just a few days!
today he is on a low dose of intuniv. it is a blood pressure med that has a side effect that is marketed for adhd.
he gets his pill at nite. the immediate effect is a bit of drowsiness. this works well as it helps him get a good nites sleep.
I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with intuniv.
what works for you or your child?

  • My son takes Abilify, Clonodine and Zoloft, I've considered taking him off since receiving a medical diagnosis, having nothing to do with Autism but everything to do with hormone release. One of which is cortisol, which the lack of mimics developmental disorders. However, due to the lack of children with this disorder, funding for research is low. Thus, making it difficult for his docs to solidly say it is truly autism. So we live with a diagnosis of PDD and Panhypopituitarism.

I have tried a variety of meds because I've dealt with ADD, anxiety and depression since childhood. Most recently I've been taking B12, D3, B6, and Cymbolta! I've got a lot to deal with as a single parent and this combo has been a lifesaver!
